Overview

Amboseli National park is known for its’ magnificent herds of large tusked African elephants and great views of the snowcaps of the highest mountain in Africa known as Mt. Kilimanjaro while Tsavo West is known for its Red-coloured Elephants, that love to dust bathe in the red colored soil. Known for interesting geological features due to volcanic activity. The park is massive & wildlife is spread out, so you will need to take some time to see the wildlife and fully appreciate this national park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

You will be picked up from your respective hotel/airport within Nairobi by your guide from as early as 7.30 am and proceed to Amboseli National park which takes an approximate of 4 to 5hrs drive from Nairobi. On arrival at Amboseli National park, you will check-in at the respectful hotel and have lunch. Thereafter, proceed to enjoy game drives of the wide-open grass plains and, scattered acacia bush that are a host to a wide variety of wildlife of the BIG FIVE such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes and elephants with the rooftop of the car opened for great views and photography till the African sunset. Afterward, return back to lodge/ camp for dinner and relaxation.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park to Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast proceed for a sunrise game drive at Amboseli National Park thereafter proceed to Tsavo West National park which takes an approximate of 4 to 5hrs drive from Amboseli National Park. On arrival at Tsavo West National park, you will enjoy game drives of the wide-open grass plains and, scattered acacia bush that is a host to a wide variety of the BIG FIVE such as lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, and giraffes with the rooftop of the car opened for great views and photography till the African sunset.
Thereafter, proceed back to the lodge/camp and have dinner as relax for next day new activities.

Day 3: Tsavo West National Park to Nairobi

After breakfast have a morning game drive in Tsavo West National Park as you depart for Nairobi. Game drives during the morning hours will be done en-route the exit as look for leopards on the drive ways of the Shetani lava flows. Leopards are known to dominate Tsavo west national park. Elephants also are very many and are of a different species in Tsavo compared to Amboseli National Park. Tsavo West is known to have the red Elephants while Amboseli National Park is known to have the African elephant. The reason they are different is that the soil in Amboseli is different in color compared to one in Tsavo. Ostrich are also very many In Tsavo and you will get a chance to see many of them as you have your morning game drives.

What to carry?
Original Passports
Pocket money
Camera and recorders with extra batteries.
A few photocopies of all personal documents such as passports, visas, flights, travel insurance, vaccination card, international debit cards, (Master Card, Visa credit cards, etc.) driving license.
Fuller clothes for evenings at the hotel and lodge, such as long pants and long-sleeved shirts to protect you against mosquitoes after sunset and, if necessary, against the sun.
A jacket/sweater, as it can be cool in the early morning and evening
Summer Footwear (e.g. sports shoes and cotton socks). Avoid walking on bare feet and or leaving your legs naked at night due to mosquitoes.
